Leather Stamping

I was recently inspired by a beautiful lady that makes a damn good living making custom stamped leather belts, cuffs, animal collars, gun holsters, tons of stuff. I was ESPECIALLY mesmerized by the particular letter stamping she used, so I finally got my hands on the tooling I needed, and couple of blank leather cuffs, and went to town.

It took all day to make it even look the least bit decent :P especially not having a hammer to stamp the letters with. The paint was a little messy, and smeared a few times, but after a couple of seconds of scraping, it came right off. I was worried about the acrylic paint cracking, so I used some of this diamond glaze I had, not sure if it would work, but it certainly did!

I made this first one for my husband while he's at work, so he knows I'm thinking about him <3 then I tried it on a realized it fit me perfect, which means it's way too small for him, FAIL. Lesson learned, next time I'll get medium sized cuffs!

Lovely Teaspoon

I've been neglecting this blog, AH!

Lately my store has been featured in a lot of blogs and Etsy treasuries, and I thought I'd share the love too by bloggin' about one of my favorite stores, Lovely Teaspoon. She does monthly give aways, which is awesome and generous, and one day when I am feeling so nice, and my orders pick up, I'll gladly do the same!

Here's the link to her latest give away:

This blue-haired beauty has a bad habit of listing some of my favorite items on Etsy! We have very similar taste, and I find some of her whimsical ideas very interesting and kooky...she's really not afraid to shock people with her awesome ideas, which I love in an artist. So go check her out at www.thelovelyteaspoon.etsy.com!

Wire Bending pt.3

I couldn't keep away from the bird's nest design, it's simple, cute, and such a loose design...the kinkier, the better. [that sounded dirty :P]

I used pretty much the same method as the necklace as mentioned in a previous posting, only I added a cute Cardinal bird to closely guard her eggs.

I'm a bit tired of wire bending though, on to another venture!

Wire Bending pt. 2

I was looking around the net for something simple to bend, I was thinking more of a ring, but was too lazy :P so I found some earrings instead! I'm quite pleased with how they turned out, sort of an Art Deco style. I hope to make more like these, with beads of more valuable quality perhaps. I DO need to get some thinner wire [24 gauge], so I dont have such a hard time bending more complex designs!

I found a new love, and her name is wire bending!

I've wanted to make these little wire bird nest pendants for a long time, but thought it would be way too difficult/time consuming...ok I'll be honest, I was lazy...but after finding myself with a lot of free time, and much extra wire, I thought I'd give it a whirl.

My first attempt, I didnt cut enough wire :/ what was I thinking! The second attempt, I became a bit discouraged because most people use the easy-to-manipulate 24 gauge wire, and all I could find is 20, now that I NEED that spool of flimsy wire I thought I'd never use. *darn* I remained confident that I would finish this piece, however, and after being poked in the eye numerous times because my cats were suddenly amused by stiff bouncey wire, I came to a stopping point, added a few extra touches, and I LOVE IT! I hope it sells soon though, I'd like to make many more!

Gearin' Up for Back to School

I just recently opened the shop back up now that I have a solid inernet connection. Lots of prices have been lowered in accordance with the season, that and I NEED to get rid of some stock to make room for new designs!
